A majority of member votes must be present in person at the annual meeting to call the meeting to order. On the date of the annual meeting our 2009 membership included twelve households which represented a total of twenty-four votes. Only three households were in attendance representing six votes. This resulted in a 25% participation rate. Therefore, we did not have a quorum and the meeting could not be brought to order.

Plano Schools Begin Monday, August 25, 2008. Plano Police Officers will be heavily enforcing school zones, crosswalks and speed limits to assure a safe commute to school. Remember, the children walking to school in our neighborhood are our friends' children, our neighbors' children and our own children. Please drive safely througout the neighborhood.
The Plano Police Department offers the following reminders for safe motoring throughout the school year:
- Drive 20mph in designated zones
- Commute around areas of school traffic to get to work.
- Never "wave" a child across the street from your vehicle
- Don't drop your children out at random spots along the road to school.
- Watch for clearly marked pedetrian crossings at locations where Crossing Guards are not on duty.
- Use carpool lanes correctly and don't unload except at the school entrance.
- Observe and obey the Cross Guard directions.

Please take a moment to review the responses to our 2008 Questionniare. We have summarized these for you in an on-line presentation. Just click on the Questionnaire Results folder on our Resource Center page and select 2008 HOA Member Questionnaire Results.
Two common concerns that continue to show up in your feedback are Crime Prevention & Safety, and lack of yard and fence maintenance in the neighborhood. Please check our new Crime Watch and Property Standards web pages to find important information, links and telephone numbers that address these concerns.

We completed our annual Spring Clean-Up this week. The flower beds are cleared, shrubs are trimmed, and trees are pruned. The perennials, yellow Coreopsis "Nana", planted last year are blooming again and looking good. The aquatic lilies are just beginning to bud and we should have blooms later this month. We also added a few annuals, blue Scalia and yellow Marigolds, for additional color this spring, summer and fall. We hope everyone in the neighborhood enjoys the view at our entrance. Thank you volunteers for your time and hard work to make our corner beautiful. |

Plano police recently unveiled a new service that will allow residents to sign up to receive e-mail alerts when crimes occur near their homes, schools or other locations. The system, which can be accessed at the Web site CrimeReports.com, will also let the public view incident reports by location on a map of the city, with a brief description of the crime and other information.

You may have noticed that the flag flying behind our entrance at the corner of Legacy and Red River has been missing for a few months. The flag was removed from service until a broken flag snap could be replaced. The flag snap was replaced yesterday and the "Stars and Stripes" are once again flying proudly over the Cross Creek West Entrance. |

We completed our annual winter cleanup on Wednesday. There are a few pansies lingering from our fall planting still in bloom and our perennial yellow Coreopsis "Nana" planted last spring are beginning to bloom. No signs yet of the perennial Aquatic Lilies planted last spring. Nevertheless with the leaves removed, the flower beds cleaned and the emerging blooms our entrance at Red River and Legacy continues to look great and is well prepared for our spring clean-up and spring planting next month.
Special thanks to our new volunteers, eight year old William and seven year old Kathryn. They helped a lot with our winter clean up.
